This song is pretty special. I mean, seriously. Consider being in Vampire Weekend's shoes. You're virtually new to the music scene. You've been featured everywhere, SNL appearances and then you are covered by one of your major influences and contemporaries. VW probably feels pretty validated right now. I caught wind of the Hot Chip-Peter Gabriel collaboration back in September and have been waiting ever since for it to come out. Big props go to Abeano for the heads up.
Hot Chip is currently working on followup to Made in the Dark and have asked Gabriel to join them in the album-making process. Hopefully we will hear more things like "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" (featured on the XL 08/09 sampler) or better from the lads from across the pond.
The Hot Chip with Robert Wyatt and Geese EP will be in stores on December 22.
