New Killers Single - "Human"

What do you think of the new Killers single?

The Killers are an awesome band. Hot Fuss (debut) was proof of that. But like all beginning acts, the sophomore slump (Sam's Town) is usually what kills them.

I think what the Killers did wrong was that they tried to sound waaaay too different too fast. We fell in love with the synth-drenched, dance-beat-having thrillers of Hot Fuss. And then we got... what? An unsuccessful Springsteen impersonation? No bueno.

With this new single it sounds like they're returning to electronic form. It actually sounds like a meld of both styles. Frontman Brandon Flowers hasn't returned to his Vegas lounge styles.

I understand the need not to put out a debut album part 2, but that doesn't mean you have to totally abandon your sound. People fell in love with Hot Fuss for a reason. Why change what ain't broken? You should have a sound and build on it.
